THE SOUTH CLELEY BENEFICE

Serving the communities of Cosgrove, Furtho, Potterspury, Wicken and Yardley Gobion

Giving to the benefice

The running expenses that a benefice incurs to do its work are considerable. This is quite apart from any maintenance to the fabric of our buildings. The Diocese of Peterborough pays any stipends that clergy receive, but the parishes are responsible for their expenses such as travel costs. The parishes also pay what is called Parish Share, which is their contribution to the diocese's expenses.

The church's income is partly derived from fees for services such as funerals and weddings, but mainly from offerings, fundraising events and donations.

We would be grateful for any help you can give us. The most efficient way of doing this is through planned giving, when the church knows what to expect and can also reclaim Gift Aid for contributions made by taxpayers. This can be organised through the Administrator.

The separate parishes have their own giving schemes which you will see on their pages.

In the interests of transparency, the Diocese publishes financial dashboards for each parish. You can see the latest editions by clicking on the links below.
